Snyder the accountant! Michigan Policast 013 September 8 2014

Play

It’s Michigan Politics 013 for the week of September 8, 2014.  Today we’re looking at Rick Snyder’s ads, absentee voting, MDP GOTV efforts, Kochity Kochs, and more.

Let’s start with Snyder’s douchey ad. If you haven’t seen it on tv, feel free to subject yourself to the ad here:

This ad is called “Numbers” and Amy does a great job (as usual) fact-checking and explaining those numbers.

Take a look at Amy’s notes here –

Then we talk a little bit about debating and rebranding.  Can you get a warm & fuzzy feeling for an accountant?  Snyder hopes so.

I spend some time on absentee voting.  Who can vote by absentee?  How do you do it?  How can the new Michigan Democratic Party initiative help you?  Here are some links on that:

Eventually we get to term limits, governors, and we even have a special appearance by the old trade office in Japan.

As always feel free to chime in, leave comments, talk to us on Facebook or on Twitter.  We’d love to hear from you!
